i could easily walk to the market and many other attractions. the hotel restaurant offered outdoor seating with a beautiful view. the staff was helpful and friendly i noted. the room was quiet.

i found a slight outdated decor in some of the common areas though the rooms were well kept.

I found out i was charged $39 for parking but it was not complimentary. That was irritating.

the hotel can be difficult to reach from yaletown. canada line provides direct access from the airport to most locations. the price was high.

The price felt steep for what i got. the room looked tired, and some things needed fixing. the shower grout looked old. It wasn't a pretty sight. also, nobody bothered to explain the restaurant or pool hours when i checked in, annoying.

Check-in was smooth. I felt welcome. my room, the 'granville island king,' provided ample space for relaxation. the proximity to the island's attractions meant everything was a tender walk away.

the ice machine on my floor seemed to be temporarily out of service, requiring a short trip to another level.
